Modibodi Period Pants Advice

Hello,
I have just washed my daughter's new modibodi period pants for the first time and just wanted to check some things please. I have put them in one of their bags in the machine by themselves, not with anything else. My washing machine has a 'silk' setting so I went for that as it seemed the most delicate? But it only lasts for 30 minutes so I'm not sure they will be washed enough? Do other people wash on a normal setting for 60 ish minutes? Or wool? Or sports? Thank you!
She wore them overnight and to school today and declared them 'comfy' so fingers crossed they'll be good for her. She's only 10 and chose pants out of all the other options we looked at and discussed...

What do the washing instructions say?

GreyishDays · 11/11/2020 22:28

Can you make a bespoke programme?

Ours allows a normal wash but with lower temperature and spin.

Peacock3 · 11/11/2020 22:29

They just say 30 degrees.

I think 30 minutes at 30 degrees would be fine

eurochick · 11/11/2020 22:30

I wash mine on my usual 30 degree one hour cycle that I use for most clothes. I've had them nearly a year and they are surviving!

Peacock3 · 11/11/2020 22:31

Yes, think I should have done that really. Just interested to know how other people washed them. Normal cycle but lower temp would have probably been better! Silk seems a bit light!

I rinse mine in cold water first to get everything out then just stick them in with the normal dark wash. I've had them a couple of years with no problems.

I wash mine and dd’s on a normal cycle. When I accidentally put them through a wool wash they weren’t clean enough.

GreyishDays · 11/11/2020 22:40

I’m sure mine say cold wash. Maybe they’ve changed it.

pearlypidge · 11/11/2020 22:42

I rinse mine out in cold water, stick them in a net bag and then put them in a normal wash with everything else (a cottons wash at 30 or 40).

Had them a year now and they're still absolutely fine.

cactusdog · 11/11/2020 22:43

Sorry high jacking, but do people use washing tabs?
I put mine in normal wash with darks on 30, (after rinsing) but have used washing capsule, and have seen they aren't meant to have softener used?
I use fairy non bio two in one, so now worried..

Smallinthesmoke · 11/11/2020 22:45

Rinse out with cold water then normal wash at 30 degrees, no fabric conditioner.

bobby81 · 11/11/2020 22:48

What @Smallinthesmoke said!

Baffledmuch · 11/11/2020 22:50

They are amazing, so good choice! The instructions are to rinse and then wash at 30. I just sling them on a normal wash at 30°, no need for a delicates cycle. No fabric conditioner and I use non-bio powder.

PurpleFrames · 11/11/2020 22:54

I wash mine with an EcoEgg for 21mins (yes 21 exactly!) at 30, no problems so far. Good luck to your daughter x

Peacock3 · 11/11/2020 22:55

Thank you everybody. I'll go for a normal wash at 30 next load...

I rinse mine in cold water first.

Then I chuck them in the machine with a laundry tab (no conditioner) at a 30 degree wash (the coldest cycle) for 30 mins.

So far so good.
