Hi, I have my driving test tomorrow morning, I am really nervous. Have a lesson today and then the one tomorrow before my test. Does anyone have any tips or advice? Thanks

Not sure if this is in the correct category actually. Sorry if it's not

Not crashing the car is a good start Grin good luck!

Easier said then done but try to relax. I am assuming that you feel you are ready so take confidence in that, believe in yourself.

Make sure you are 110% on the known tricky areas of the test routes (assume you've done some of these with your instructor). Have a look at the weather and be prepared to adjust driving accordingly. Is you test at school drop off or pick up times? Make sure you remember to be extra vigilant especially of 20 mph limits. If you get in the wrong lane on a roundabout just follow that route - can't fail you for taking a wrong route but you will fail if you change lane randomley.

Be mindful of looking at signage. I've heard a couple fail recently due to being told to 'take the next available exit' and the next one is a no entry/bus lane etc, so ensure you check.

Good luck!

Thank you both 😁. My test is at 10:24am so will miss the school traffic, just feeling very nervous and hoping I can manage to get a sleep tonight or I'll feel much worse tomorrow 😬

Good luck! How have you managed to keep your test slot? All ours have been cancelled due to the lockdown!

Aragog · 11/11/2020 10:25

I'm assuming you're not in England, or you are a priority driver hence taking your test.

Good luck. Try to keep calm, deep breaths. If you're at the stage of taking a test you're instructor knows you can do it. Have some confidence, but remember to be extra vigilant and take extra care with your manoeuvres.

Yes, and remember your mirrors. Make it obvious you are using them.

I would also love to know how you have kept your test slot. My son has had 3 cancelled!

Good luck.

Good luck!

It helped my DD to approach her test as a "trial test" - a practice run for the "real" test she intended on taking at a later date. It made her feel more relaxed.

One of the biggest things you can fail on is not being in control of the car, or being a danger to pedestrians/other cars. Stalling, for example, won't fail you, so if you have a minor blip, put it behind you and carry on. It probably wont matter.

Thank you everyone for the advice.

I am in Scotland so driving lessons and tests can still go ahead here at the moment.
