Golden wedding present ideas

I’m completely stuck for golden wedding present ideas for my parents, and was hoping someone had some wisdom. They live rurally and are quite outdoorsy. Can’t offer nice meal as mum has lots if dietary issues. Was thinking of weekend away to something like Chatsworth RHS show, but that’s cancelled next year, and feels a bit risky to book for an event next year. I’d book something for longer term, but feels odd to book for something for 2022 as a gift for something in 2020

I would buy painting/ pottery etc but they’re delcuttering and keep trying to offload stuff onto me, so doesn’t feel like they’ll value you it.

They adore their grandkids, and other than life size sculpture of DD, not sure what they’d like. Dad likes music and gigs, mum likes animals and not keen on gigs etc.

New BBQ. Or a fire pit, with a giant paella pan.

Appreciate you don't want clutter, but I bought a set of these for my parents jodowns.com/collections/coasters/products/gold-heart-coaster
Brother bought them a newspaper from their wedding day.

There are quite a few “golden” plant ideas - golden wedding roses and things like that.
Another idea we’ve used is a commissioned plate where they do a picture of your parents on the plate or something similar - we had a lovely illustration picture from Charlotte Firmin at “Cosmo China” (think the website is cargo collective or something now) - she did it from a photo of them.

And you can get sparkling wine with bits of gold leaf in too, might be fun!

These look lovely and are quite mesmerising to look at, and I loved getting one and remember it fondly but boy did it taste awful 😂

We booked a professional photo session for the family for my parents anniversary. Though with COVID I’m not sure how viable that is

We got my aunt and uncle a photo book of their party.

Also maybe consider rhs or national trust membership?

We filled a box with 50 things (a mixture of his, hers, theirs) for my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Some very small like each of their fave snack and others bigger and with more meaning. It worked well because some of the DGC were v.young but could still be involved in choosing and giving.

Prob not good if your DP are decluttering though.

I got all their friends and family to give me funny story or photo of time spent with my parents or memory of their wedding and got it made it into a book. Also booked a surprise dinner in a nice hotel not far from where they got married with children/ grandchildren with them staying over afterwards- that was the first weekend of lockdown so cancelled bit they keep mentioning when we can rearrange so know they loved the idea.

Thank you for the ideas. I’ve been looking at RHS, i might do tickets for one of the shows and membership. My sister is now looking at whether she could sort videos from people and put something together as she’s good at that sort of thing.

Will think about the garden, they are keen on feeding the birds, might look for fancy feed station of similar

For my parent's golden wedding i bought a big hamper and filled it with 'gold' things. So items that were either gold coloured or had 'gold' in the name. A mixture of daft novelty things (like a gold rubber duck) and household-y things and a few decent bits too. I just went on Amazon, Tesco etc, searched 'gold' and ordered a load of things!
