Where to put TV? Diagrams attached

We are designing our house and need to let the electrician know where to put our TV sockets. The TV will be wall mounted so we want the sockets up high and hidden behind it so there's no hanging cables. TV, sofas and room are all to scale. Which lay out is best? Dh thinks the first, as both sofas face the TV but I don't know why I'm not sure about the TV being on same wall as door..

Help please!

I'd pick 1 but choose to have the door opening the other way so there's no chance of the telly getting hit

Same as Teddy

Good point thank you we've changed it on the plans.

I’d move the tv along the wall and use the whole space- that seems squished to one end?

The unit down the other end of the room on the plans is our sons kallax unit with all his toys, we're trying to leave a bit of space that end for him to play and have the lounge up the other side.

Fair enough. I’d have the play in the middle during the day, then put away for large adults only area in the evening but each to their own 😊

One. But agree with changing the direction of the door.

YellowEllis · 09/11/2020 22:32

Following @AppleKatie 's suggestion this is a third option

I’d put the tv more centrally rather than having it all squished down one end. Your son isn’t going to be playing on the floor forever. And that’s a lot of space you are leaving him!

Could you go with option 2, but angle the smaller sofa towards the tv too instead of facing the larger sofa?
Hope that makes sense!

ItsmineAllmine · 09/11/2020 22:41

I'd go with the 3rd option

AppleKatie · 09/11/2020 22:41

Yes I much prefer #3 (but then I would!)

Personally I don't like how its all squashed down one end. I would put the TV in the middle of the non-door wall. Your ds would still have plenty of space.

YellowEllis · 09/11/2020 22:58

It's a long room but a little bit narrow so we're just trying to make sure we make the most of the space. Definitely think option 3 works best but we've moved the TV a little more central again than the last pic I uploaded. Think we'll go with that. If we put the TV on the wall without the door it's impossible to position both sofas without covering the window with the cuddler which has quite a high back so think TV will have to be on same wall as door but it's further away now and we've changed door direction.
