Pistachio and rose croquembouche is the best pudding and looks really good.

Cloudesley · 09/11/2020 10:06

I am loving the swan meringue but I know the neck would break!

Lardlizard · 09/11/2020 14:45

Pavlova tower would be fab if it was for a lot of people
I like the idea of sparklers though !

How about them desserts in a chocolate ball where you pour hot sauce on to melt it? I’ve never made one but they always look amazing! Example above ^

Go Scandi and make kransekage (made from marcipan) you can make it as big or small as you like.

You could easily do a miniature pavlova tower for two, just make the meringue circles smaller

Lardlizard · 09/11/2020 16:35

Giant I can’t figure out what that’s ment to be ? A swan ?

BearSoFair · 09/11/2020 16:50

Kransekage isn't meant to resemble anything, it's just concentric ring cakes. Giant's photo is a filled 'overflødighedshorn' (horn of plenty)

This kinder bueno cheesecake with 16 kinder bueno bars in it?? I don't eat dairy but I was assured it was delicious!

I think the swan looks fab - so what if it's kitsch, I'd probably have sparklers coming out of its bum! And meringue is cheap so you culd always make a few spare necks in case of disaster.

giantangryrooster · 09/11/2020 17:45

It's a cornucopia (horn) as pp, very traditional here, you even see it with chocolates flowing out the horn.

WillSantaBeComingToTown · 09/11/2020 17:51

Something like this is a showstopper?

Lardlizard · 09/11/2020 18:27

Will Santa

The horn of plenty looks almost dragon like
Does it have jam and cream inside ?

Sachatorte is my go to, totally indulgent but surprisingly simple. Can be made more impressive visually with decoration

Bvop · 09/11/2020 18:32

Choux pastry swans (bake bun and neck separately) filled with creme pattisiere and surrounded by a lake of raspberry coulis (with little cream hearts in) or chocolate sauce.

Lardlizard · 09/11/2020 18:32

Moving I always thinning that as delicious but rather plain so what decorations do you add ? Xx

LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow · 09/11/2020 18:56

i'd go for a deep darkchocolate torte affair with gold leaf and those hideous pysalis things in their paper lampshades

or souffles?? They are pretty wow!

giantangryrooster · 09/11/2020 19:09

No, the horn of plenty is made with rings from a dough of marcipan, powdered sugar and egg whites which are decorated with icing. They are traditionally glued together with caramel (icing may be used). No jam or anything, then you either fill it with decorated petit fours made from the same dough or you fill it with fancy pieces of chocolate.

Lardlizard · 09/11/2020 21:58

Giant I could eat that right now !
