Has anyone’s children carried on doing doing after school activities since March?

Beavers in my area hasn’t started back at all.

Swimming & gymnastics started up again (although DD didn't go back to gymnastics).

Beavers didn't restart but a friend's DS did have zoom meetings over lock down & face to face on alternate weeks to allow for reduced numbers. Back online now.

I feel very lucky here (SE) Dd has been riding since May, Ds's football started in July (now stopped but likely to start again December from what I can gather).

Cubs and Scouts started back in September. (As did swimming)

Beavers didn't... As the whole colony was eligible for Cubs (using the age flex down to 7.5), and it was decided to delay recruiting new Beavers would wait until things more stable. As it is, even with the extra Cubs the whole pack numbers have significantly dropped. All meetings are outdoors. Fortunate to have our own outdoor lit area, so they only goes inside for the toilet.

Nothing run by school has started.
Scouts/Cubs hasn’t started.

Horse riding started again around June I think, Gymnastics started back in August, Swimming in Sept. All closed again now.

Dc have been back in rainbows and guides since August and swimming is starting next week. Friends dc have been at football, tennis, hockey etc since August too. Riding lessons currently operating.

My DC do (between them) football, indoor cricket, netball and choir outside school, as well as some school clubs. All of these started back at some point between July and October but have stopped again now.

Guides never went back face to face, but their sports clubs did. Stopped again now though.

reefedsail · 08/11/2020 08:29

Sailing restarted in June and has now closed again for 4 weeks (only, I hope).

Rookie Lifeguards never restarted. Luckily DS swims weekly with school in their own pool so that at least can continue.

Nope. Everything's still shut.
DS is doing Lego Club on Outschool though. He seems to be enjoying it.

Echobelly · 08/11/2020 08:36

Guides has been entirely on Zoom, Scouts mostly but they got in 3 or 4 in-person outdoor meetings in during Sept/early Oct

Son's cookery club has run since September as they've kept it in bubbles, and they are carrying on this half-term. Apparently his piano lessons (which were on Skype March-Sept) are carrying on in-person, though I'm not convinced they're supposed to be.

Club swimming went back June I think and closed again this week, stables were open May/ June but shut again now. I have very fed up teenagers who think they were safer at those activities which I agree due to excellent COVID planning than they are at school with no social distancing.

Swimming, football, dance & music lessons all started back face to face in August/September. Stopped again now... piano & dance are still going on via zoom.

Nothing at all from Brownies. Scouting around here did go face to face again in the summer but obviously that’s stopped again for the time being.
