Selling stuff on line, can you or not?

I’ve got a tonne of stuff that I need to sell.
I’ve tried spock, uploaded a load of stuff and it all disappeared off the site and having tried to sell with them before unsuccessfully, I’m going to sack that.
eBay has all the complex postage shite... but what’s the story with selling at this time?
Are post offices open? Can you post in other ways other than the post office?

Sorry for the daft questions but it’s been absolutely years since I sold anything on line.

Any body a whizz at on line selling who can advise?
Thanks x

I don't sell online but Post Offices are definitely open, I walked past both in our High St earlier today. Or you can do print at home postage and drop parcels in Parcel Postboxes, I've never actually tried that way though.

I do lots of selling on eBay and Gumtree, and use Hermes for delivery. Parcel shops are open for drop off, or you can do socially-distanced local collection.

As pp says, you can print postage labels at home and drop them in a post box, Royal Mail will collect up to 5 packages from you if you book it. Post offices are open if you need special delivery etc. There's also couriers, some will collect from your home.

Post offices are allowed to stay open, but individual ones can choose to close if they want. Check with your local one before heading out. There seem to be a lot fewer of them closed than during March and April, because the ones in convenience stores have installed screens to separate their staff from the customers.

What about your local Facebook selling page, often people are looking for stuff local and are able to collect, I've done this for childrens toys. Last lockdown we got a lovely new bike for dd .from there. Otherwise post offices are open.

Thanks but it’s specialised stuff so wouldn’t go on a local site, it needs to be advertised wider to capture the interest.

The post boxes that some of you mention, how do I get more info on those?

Look on royal mail’s website. Or google ”parcel post boxes” for a list of the locations.

I presume you know what a post box looks like! Grin

Just be careful putting stuff in post boxes as I presume you might need a proof of postage which you don't get.

Our local petrol station has Hermes lockers. You print the labels at home, take them to the lockers. Scan the barcodes on the labels & the locker door opens. You then just put inside & close it.
