My DC(9) has been invited for a sleepover tonight, but we're in lockdown(!) - do "kids" count on the "no one inside/garden" rule?

Yes they do

RosieLemonade · 07/11/2020 10:24

They do but it is frustrating considering they spend all day at school together.

PotteringAlong · 07/11/2020 10:26

Yes, they do. No sleepovers in lockdown!

LadyCatStark · 07/11/2020 10:28

Of course they can’t go 🙈

Reborn2020 · 07/11/2020 10:29

No sleepovers

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 07/11/2020 10:33

Of course children count Hmm

I’d not be impressed to receive an invite like that when it clearly breaks the rules and would be thinking twice about contact after.

Oli001 · 07/11/2020 11:54

Thank you everyone - I though this would be the case, but was slightly confused with the "6" rule as children are not in that equation ... (and getting the invite)! Also, needed the child to see the outcome as did not believe me as they so wanted to go:(

Yes. They count. Don’t send her.

School is different. They are bubbled. In another persons house, she spreads to all of that family. Not in bubble.

I really hope this is a joke (Hmm) but playing it straight if not.

Danglingmod · 07/11/2020 16:30

The 6 rule also includes children if you are in England, which I assume you are?

It also is supposed to be SD if from another household which seems to have escaped many....
Chevron123 · 07/11/2020 17:45

Obviously the answer is no.

We are (were) in a very low risk part of the country and I have been shocked at how it has ripped through two local schools recently. Eldest DC will be starting a phased return next week after two weeks of complete school closure. I will certainly be more cautious going forwards and I have read the riot act to DCs about sticking to the rules.

Danglingmod · 07/11/2020 18:54

Absolutely. Sleepovers have basically never been allowed throughout this whole thing - as who thinks a group of kids can keep 2m away from each for a long period of time and overnight?

Figgygal · 07/11/2020 18:56

What do you mean she doesn’t count in the rule of six if you’re in England all children count towards that number

But yes assuming England absolutely not allowed we are in lockdown no one should be going in each other’s houses
