I’m sure plenty of us and our kids have had lockdown birthdays.
What did you do or was there anything your child particularly enjoyed from your efforts?
My DD is turning 7 next week so want to make it a bit special as she won’t be having any friends round or family

We hired a bouncy castle for my daughters 8th birthday in lockdown. Her and her brothers loved it.

For the two we've had so far it has been child's choice.

DS turned 6 back in April so we had a day of board games, cake, home made pizza, films of his choice and lots of Lego building.

DD turned 11 back in June so me and her did pamper things, then films, and then takeaway Pizza Hut for tea when everyone else was home (DH is a key worker and the DSs were in school - DDs year group hadn't gone back)

They both had a lush day and really enjoyed being in able to pick how everything went that day.

Can you talk the teacher into doing some party games and send some individually wrapped treats in and see if they'll do something??

Outside cinema with fairy lights sounds great too x

We've just bought the boardgame taskmaster and played that with our children for my daughter's birthday. Whilst my children are teens, most of the tasks can be done by an 8 year old child - put as many blue things into a square as possible, make the smallest sandwich etc... I can honestly say I haven't belly laughed as much for ages.

Would recommend watching the sanitised version first!

Bought a cardboard castle that you colour in and decorate and filled it with balloons...for first thing in morning
Selection of fun and crafty gifts
Arranged video call with close family for singing Happy Birthday and cutting the cake
Runabout in the woods
Home made decorations and Alice in wonderland tea party
Made our own bath bombs
Watched Frozen
