Where do you buy your organic fruit and vegetables?

I'm looking at Riverford farms and other organic veg boxes but they are shockingly expensive. Are they superior to the organic produce from Lidl and Aldi?

"Superior" is a difficult word ... Feels a bit off for me to bray about the excellence of expensive organic food if that makes someone on a tighter budget or with other priorities feel rubbish about their life.

My first choice would always be growing my own. Then, outside lockdown, having decent markets and greengrocers within easy distance. Neither of those options are practical for me at the moment.

I'm not really familiar with either Aldi or Lidl. Over many years with Ocado I had become rather lazy / complacent, but also rather dissatisfied with my grocery shopping, after a previously foody lifetime. Lockdown prompted me to find additional suppliers for most fresh food - fish, dairy produce, fruit & veg.

It is more expensive. But beyond the quality of produce all this virtual hunting and gathering provides a ridiculous amount of entertainment while I'm forced to be at home so much. I'm much more prepared to compromise when there isn't a pandemic lurking on the doorstep.

Local farm shop. Some of them deliver to quite a wide area (as we found when searching for someone who could deliver food to MIL at the start of the first lockdown). Ours isn’t all organic, but all clearly labelled as to which is which, so easy to choose. Even the non organic stuff tastes better than supermarket versions ime.
