I've been furloughed until March! Kids aren't at home. What now?!

I've just found out I've been furloughed until March.

Two kids at uni and one at boarding school (this has all happened in the last month, dc bursary kid at local independent, wasn't supposed to board but due to covid he has been offered a full boarding place as the day option would mean he couldn't do the thing he went there for - music).

So I have the weird feeling of having nothing to do with my life until March!

Any ideas on what a 54 year old woman can do with her life until then?!

I would learn a language. Arabic appeals to me!

@ButNotYet furloughed people might not have job and struggle to get a new one at the end of it so those saving might save them from having to get UC. Personally I saved a few months childcare after I had paid the childminder for 3 months of lockdown, that's 3 months of earning rather than benefits. Having a bit of a cushion of savings for me meant I could look for well paid part time work (which I have thankfully found but it looked impossible for a while) so now I will be paying more tax than I did before covid got me made redundant.

OP I'm a developer! Do it the pay is good atm, lots of finTech things about so you might be well suited it slide in somewhere sideways

Wow, and I feel good when the server goes down at work and I get ten minutes for a cup of tea! I worked through the last lockdown and now I'm at risk of redundancy. Life isn't fair!

Have a plan for each day - even if it’s just little things. A bit of structure is helpful
