I do, as I find it fun

When I can get to somewhere flat, yes. But its a bit of a walk and my roller boots are v. heavy.

You've just reminded me of the rollerblades I was given for Christmas a couple of years ago that I've never mastered. Last lockdown I kept planning to learn but never did - this is now my goal for lockdown 2.0 - thanks OP!

If I could skate, yes

JacobReesMogadishu · 05/11/2020 15:48

I do. I’m pretty good at skating and used to do roller derby.

I tend to go to a nice tarmac long distance cycle path near me. It’s not very busy and it’s easy skating. I do 3 miles one way and then turn round and skate back.

I’d like to start going to the local skate park and have a go at ramps/bowls but just worried that being in my mid 40s the local teens will look at me like wtf!

Goodness no. The NHS gas enough to do without me breaking several bones a nanosecond after I tried to stand up in them.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 05/11/2020 16:10

hell yes! but this is the most hazardous time of year to do so because of fallen leave sludge and frost making it madly slippery

safariboot · 05/11/2020 16:12

Yes, but I'd need to get practicing a bunch. Last time I was on rollerblades the only way I knew how to stop was to crash into something!

I am very precious about my skates. Too dirty, wet, muddy here for my precious wheels. And pavement not very smooth. Dry smooth conditions would be fine.

Nice one Edwin bear 🐻let me know how you get on 👏👏

If my neighbourhood was flat with smooth pavements that weren't well worn after 30 years, I'd use mine far more often.
