Hi, I need some advice please, has anyone ever had a chazalion on their bottom eyelid? I have got one and I've had it for months, tried hot compress and massaging it but it's not going away or even getting any smaller 😢 anyone had one and can tell me how to get it away ASAP please? Thanks

If it’s been there for a while and not changed, there’s very little you can do, but have it cut out. Nhs in England will no longer cover this usually.
Are you sure it’s a chalazion and not something else?

Hi, if you see your GP they can refer you to have it removed with minor surgery.

My sister had one on her eyelid for months. Had to have surgery on it in the end.

Ask GP for Chloramphenicol 1% ointment. Apply twice a day for 2 weeks to see if it helps.

Thank you everyone, I am scotland so hopefully the nhs can remove it. Yes I am 90% sure it's a chazalion with plenty of googling and the optician saying it was a small cyst that should go away with warm compress and gentle massage.

I used to get those on and off a fair bit. I used Goldeneye drops/cream and Brolene drops and both worked well. If the main swelling goes down but leaves behind a small hard lump, that can be taken out with minor surgery. I only got the little lump once and it went away on its own after a little while, but I know people who had them removed and say it was very quick and easy.

Get a referral from gp and continue with hot compress and massaging. Once you get a date for surgery it will fuck off on its own - that's what happened with me.

I have had one twice. The first time it was quite large and I was referred to have it removed (Scotland). The thought of it was worse than the actual procedure.
The second time it was close to where the first was and I bought a heatable eye mask and did all the massage etc. I don't think it really helped much, but decided as it was smaller I was just going to leave it. It eventually did go by itself. I think it just got smaller and smaller then went.

I have had these on both of my eyelids, and twice have had tohave them removed (privately not NHS). The only things I have found to help are a microwaveable eye mask, as hot as I can bear it for a good length of time, and occusoft eyelid scrubs.

ChocsAway2 · 04/11/2020 22:48

I had one on my eyelid caused by an eyebrow pen. I think you have to use the compress immediately, after a while it is hard to get rid of. Mine did eventually dissipate or absorb, over 3-4 months. It is depressing when it is on the face.

BradleyCooperwillbemine · 05/11/2020 04:27

I've had these. The first time, I had surgery to remove them - never, ever again! The second time, I put on hot compresses, as hot as I could manage, and eventually they just popped out - hugely satisfying.

Yep, had one several years ago. Got quite large and GP referred me to eye unit. Had to wait about 9 months for appt but they did remove it.
