Make up removal tips - persistent Halloween make up

I couldn’t be bothered getting out the snazaroo face paints yesterday so wrote on my children’s foreheads with a felt tipped pen eyeliner. A good scrub with eye make up remover helped, but it’s still there, just lighter.

Any tips for a household product that could remove it without damaging their skin?

I’ve used olive oil in the past and that’s shifted it.

Oil? Try vegetable oil or baby oil. Massage it on and remove with a damp flannel.

Peanut butter is good for this sort of thing. I used to remove Rommel dark cherries lipstick which was used as Halloween face paint!

I have oil and peanut butter (crunchy), which might be a good scrub!

Soap and water?

Sanitiser Gel.

Hand sanitiser removes permanent marker so it should remove eyeliner.

I'd go for the oil option first. It should break down the make-up.

Sanitiser will be quite harsh on the face, I'd have thought.

Olive oil hadn’t helped much. Neither did soap. I think it might be better for them to look grubby than to rub alcohol on their faces. Yet to try peanut butter.

I use that type of eyeliner, I use baby shampoo to wash it off.

Coconut oil

Washing up liquid in warm water will get it off, just moisturise afterwards.

I might try them when they’re asleep. They’re not keen on the headlock/face scrub experience.

Milk! Sounds bonkers but milk on a cotton wool round will shift loads of things.

Milk you say, worth a go at cereal time. They are all messy eaters, so that might soften it up.
