Can’t work out if my cat is pedigree or not.

Hi

We rehomed our cat and her previous owner told us that she is half Siamese half Tabby.

Looking it up it seems that this is a kind of Siamese cat called a Tabby Point Siamese (and various other names) - so now I am wondering if she is a purebred cat or a moggy?

Trying to get insurance which is why I am asking.

Photo of said cat attached Smile.

She looks like my sisters Australian Mist Cat

Without her paperwork she's not a purebreed, 'just' a moggy.

Thanks so much for all your kind messages and all the different breed suggestions - it’s true that our cat resembles all of them. I think as some people have said she is probably half Siamese half marbled Tabby.

I have put her down as a Moggy and got insurance from Argos.

Thanks again 💜💜.

Moggies tend to be smarter, and hardier, and that's why their insurance is cheaper. . . she's a beauty!

Depending on your circumstances have you thought of putting money away each month instead of buying insurance?
Insurance for my two dogs was quoted at £40/mth each, and so instead I started putting £80/mth away in a savings account which is never touched. Obviously there is the possibility that they could have an accident or illness that could cost more than I have saved up, but we have taken that into consideration.

Thanks @mbosnz Smile.

Thanks for the suggestion @Twospaniels - I’m worried that she might at some stage need treatment that costs thousands.

Though if we had had her since she was a kitten I think that would have been a great idea - the bonus being that you are saving at the same time.

She is beautiful. We have two moggies but we don't have insurance. I worked it out that even with the work the boy needed it was cheaper than years of insurance. It depends if you have the money to put aside though
