I got rear-ended today in the car. Ddog was in the back we were about to go for a walk.. He whimpered a bit but seemed fine I am sore but not massively so. The car will need a new back door and bumper.

I know from previous car accident whiplash can come later on but I don't actually know what to keep an eye for in a dog?

Google isn't coming up w much suggesting more serious accidents and Ddog and I went for our walk and he had a play with 2 other dogs wagging his tail so seemed happy enough.

Anything I should keep an eye for? Currently, he is on my legs snoring not caring my legs are pins and needles from the lump of him :)

Keep a general eye on him for being stiff or favouring any part of his body. If you can do a head to toe check to see if he objects to pressure anywhere.

Hopefully this will jump for something more specific.

Are you ok OP?

I am stiff and sore but nothing major got a heat pad on my shoulder as it took a bit of a whack as I was pushed back and forth around the seatbelt but I don't feel injured. thank you for asking

Ddog seem happy enough when we touch him just seems to want more cuddles than usual though could just be we have been a bit more reciptive than usual to this Grin

Lameness, stiffness, difficulty tolerating collar/lead or bending to eat, not eating, not settling for rest. Anything out of ordinary I’d get checked.

Also check mouth in case bitten tongue. Hope you all recover soon Flowers

Thank you all I am thinking he is ok apartfrom taking full advantage of all the extra cuddles he can get.

He has eaten as normal tried to get some extra treats and is now sleeping (and farting) in his bed here in the lounge. snoring away

I had a crash (head on, driver on wrong side of road) with DDog in boot (her crate got concertina’d & had to be forced open) and I just kept a close eye on her, checked over her body for soreness but apart from a serious fear of her crate she was fine thank goodness.

I ended up with 6 months of medical treatment & a written off car but luckily we were all fine really.

Glad you're doing ok. Assuming you've not taken anything have a large gin and enjoy the cuddles.
