The stupidest thing I ever got “blamed” for (light hearted!)

This morning I had to be up and out earlier than normal and left the house as DH was just getting up. After I left he made himself a couple of slices of toast for breakfast, buttered them then spread them liberally with tomato relish, (which he hates!!) instead of jam. He discovered the error on the first bite, of course.

Now, of course, the “blame” for this distressing experience lies squarely with me for daring to “buy red stuff in a jar but not telling him it wasn’t jam!!” Hmm ..... Anyone else done anything so terrible? Grin

@Anordinarymum

I gave my bloke a pair of my jeggings to wear to work, instead of his jeans. He put them on and said 'they are a bit tight', and I said no - that's what they should look like..

Everyone at work took the piss out of him and when he came home that night I nearly had a seizure from laughing

Confused

My grandmother had this- an irate mother called her up ranting about her daughter's behaviour towards her son. She doesn't have a daughter.

DH shared one from work today.

Customer came in ranting that the shop had stolen her Christmas tree she had bought earlier and put it back on display to re-sell. Was adamant it was the shops fault and it was taken from her by someone in the shop and the shop should refund her/give her a new tree.

Video was then found of her an hour before, walking out of the store with the tree, putting it beside her whilst she waited for a taxi, and when the taxi arrived she loaded the taxi with all her shopping APART from the tree.

A couple of minutes after a man came along, saw the tree on its own, no one was around so picked up the tree and left with it.

When DH rang to tell her of this, she couldn't believe that people would just steal a Christmas tree (but ok to believe a store would steal it and not investigate). She also didn't know why she still couldn't get a refund or a new tree.

About 13 years ago I was with my husband in the flat we were renting at the time and an earthquake hit . Southeast. It was early hours and he said I was having a seizure in the bed and it was shaking the flat .
We were still sleepy at this point but fuck me .

I got into a cab whilst wearing a cream coloured coat. The car was filthy and I was trying not to get black crud on my coat but failed.

I was told it was my fault for wearing white. Obviously nothing to do with him not cleaning his mobile dustbin.

Well when he put them on early in the morning I thought they were OK, but later on when he walked in the house I realised they were so not, and of course he blamed me, but if he had taken the time to check in a mirror before leaving the house he would have seen they were not :(

Last year of high school and my English teacher (who I'm sure was a real life troll) went nuclear on me for doing physics homework in her lesson.
Exceptit wasn't me, it was the girl sat next to me and I didn't even take physics.

No amount of explaining calmed her and in the end I tallied up a whole week of detentions trying to tell her she was wrong. I didn't show up for them, but my old physics teacher did because he was brilliant. He got through to her. An apology was never forthcoming.

My parents had a workman in. They told everyone he stole jewellery. My mum then found the jewellery on a hanger in her wardrobe. I bet they kept quiet about being wrong about the workman. Whenever they lose something they always think someone else has taken it. Including family. They accused my cousin of stealing their camera but i bet he didnt
My mum also never believes anyone is ill other than herself. Her friend had terminal cancer that he since died of and i remember her saying he was "putting it on" I used to get really bad period pains as a teenager but she said i was "putting it on" as she never had period pains. She judges everyone else by her own low standards in other words
