I won't allow any support of prostitution, demeaning behaviour for women.
Everyone else has it, he has no one else to play with, his life is so boring...
He will not stop going on, and on, and on and on about it.
I'm ready to move out. Is everyone allowing their 13yo to play this?
I've told him I won't allow that kind of game full stop in my house.
AGH!!! Help me!

@Boscoforever

Thank you all so much. I do realise that plenty of kids play this game and just enjoy the street racing etc. But I fell really strongly about how they view women-I’ve 3 boys so very male dominated house. The Ulster rugby players rape trial is often mentioned here-how the views those guys had of women was so warped, and I really don’t want that for my boys. They are teens now and still into playing with friends/sports/chilling. But I am aware that girlfriends are probably around the corner, and I really worry about how they view women. I just feel really strongly on this and won’t budge.
Totally agree with you OP, the only thing I'd say is that you need a clear discussion with your DS so he understands WHY this issue is so important. Consumer choices are not just about the instant gratification of buying that product, the way you spend money also tells the industry what type of product you support, and by buying games like GRA, you're telling developers that you support the abuse of women in games enough to pay for it. It's important your son understands that.

The prostitution is a tiny, tiny, TINY part of the game, is never referred to, and I don’t know if he’d figure it out (of course, there is the internet to help).

However, with everything else in the game, there’s not a hope in hell I’d let my son play it at 13. We (dh and I) are replaying, and I’m fairly liberal at letting our 10 yo ds watch us play games like assassins creed, but the language and the situations your characters are put in (a mission is to torture someone) mean that won’t be happening.

I wouldn't let my 15YO play it. There are plenty of other games.

You don't need to argue your case, its a flat "no".
