Best child friendly thing to cook?

I’m a bit of a novice with bigger kids and have the company of a 4yr old in a few weeks for an afternoon, dinner and bed :) Last time we did pizza which was a big hit, but don’t want to repeat that if I can.

Any suggestions? Happy to slice and dice and do some prep

Pasta

My DD loves picky pasta. She picks the pasta shape we cook it, add bit of butter and she gets a few little containers of cheese, ham, sweetcorn etc and can add what she wants.

@ragged

Supervising a child doing anything can take ages. I think OP was looking to involve the child in the food prep.
Yes! Figured it would kill some time and get her involved and be a bit more fun than the usual things.

Some good ideas here :)

A favourite in my house is macaroni cheese, I cut up carrot into tiny tiny bits and add peas and sweet corn. Bonus points for crispy cheese on top. Super easy, can be made in advance and three types of veg that are almost impossible to pick out of the sticky cheese sauce!

Roast chicken dinner...I've never known a kid not like that.

Come to my house! One of mine really dislikes chicken, it's not normal 😂

They love making pizza again and again so dont worry

Otherwise chicken dippas where they dip in flour, yogurt, then crunched up cornflakes are fun.

Or jam tarts of you want something sweet
