Hi,
I've made burgers from mince. I'm vegetarian, so this is all new to me.
I've made too many. Can I freeze them? If so, should I do it before or after cooking? Thanks

Yes you can. freeze them before cooking.

Jellycatspyjamas · 25/10/2020 17:38

Yes you can freeze them, separate them with paper or wrap them individually before cooking and they’ll be fine. You can then cook from frozen when you’re ready for them.

As long as the mince was not frozen before you can freeze the burgers. Otherwise cook them first and then freeze

If the mince was fresh ie now frozen before you made the burgers you can freeze them uncooked. If you've thawed the meat and then made the burgers you'll need to cook them first and then I think you will be ok to freeze them after they've cooled.

Freeze them raw as long as the meat you used to make them wasn't already frozen

If you've got some greaseproof paper, you could put a bit between each burger to stop them sticking together

Yes, before - put greaseproof paper between them to help separate them when frozen.

HeronLanyon · 25/10/2020 17:39

Agree before. Put some grease proof paper or baking paper if you have, between the patties.

HirplesWithHaggis · 25/10/2020 17:40

Freeze before cooking, and keep a bit of greaseproof paper or some such between them so they don't freeze into one bit lump.

Thank you all, you're life savers.
