Anyone any recommendations for something that helps with hot flushes.... I can't cope with being a sweaty mess anymore 🤒

I sympathise. It's not fun, is it?

HRT would do the trick.

Or try a vitamin supplement for menopausal women. I take Menopace and also another one containing soy and red clover. I swear they help me. Others might say they are a placebo but my flushes improved within a few weeks of starting to take them in my mid-40s.

Try posting in the Menopause topic, lots of knowledgeable posters on there.

I'm on clonidine for them.

HRT works like magic.

Wear natural fibres - cotton etc. Get an electric fan for beside the bed. Hand fan for bag: I have several. Face mist helps.

I'm on an unnatural menopause due to breast cancer drugs so can't take hrt. It sucks. But I'm on gabapentin to help with the flushes and anxiety attacks that accompany them.

My doctor prescribes 5mg of Oxybutynin twice a day, and it's made a huge difference.

My hot flushes are a food intolerance. If I mind my diet, they settle hugely.

My diet is pretty dire tbh.

With all thats going on in the world I feel as if I dont want to annoy the doctor with something thats not 'important'.

I'd cut my caffeine intake a couple of years before the hot flushes started but was drinking a lot of decaf coffee. I switched from decaf coffee to decaf fruit teas and that made a bit of difference - coffee heats you up. Mist spray with a few drops of lavender oil added to the water was helpful during the night.
