Had some lovely threads last weekend talking about some very simple lovely stuff. Just all very calm and ordinary. It helped me to keep my anxiety at bay in these mad times
So today is day one of lockdown here in Wales.
It's windy and rainy but we have to help DS1 to move into his new flat. He and his girlfriend are very excited and I'm excited honest but will miss him and am worried I won't be able to see him for ages ☹️ But am determined to be positive as its such a happy time for him
Have some book arriving today for my holiday read
I have nice wine and may treat the kids to pizza delivery later
Strictly sat by my lovely log burner tonight

DC are at uni and the house is so clean and tidy. I miss them but I love the smooth uncluttered lines and fresh smell in the air - no fry ups and trainers. Grin

Sitting chilling listening to my Woodwick candle do it’s crackle thing. Just been to the butchers and chemist to get sausages for later and tweezers as my youngest DD informs me I need to sort a stray eyelash hair that grows in the corner of my eye! Anyone else get these escapee hairs? Perhaps it’s my age Grin
Anyway everyone else is still in loafing mode as we had to isolate this week and I’m the first one out being the actual Plague carrier he heee.
I need to do some apple mushing for the freezer as our tree has dropped a new lot overnight and make a lasagne will put some tunes on and get going I think.

@ilovebagpuss I get that hair, right in the very corner of my eye/tear duct. It's one of the weirdest/greatest joys in my life to get the tweezers on it.

Helped DS to move his stuff and got drenched
Home now for a cuppa
Nothing else planned for the rest of the day apart from chilling

My wellies are awful!!
Sad
Any ideas for some decent, not stupid priced ones??.

quarentini · 24/10/2020 15:10

I had a lazy morning and then went shopping.
I've put a rubbish film on and I'm currently drinking hot chocolate and wrapping Christmas gifts.
I'm getting a Chinese for tea and plan a lovely long bubble bath later.

@thenewaveragebear1983 I’m glad it’s not just me! Happily plucked it out.
@Sunnydaysstillhere my DH is a gardener and he uses those Muck welly boots sort of soft neoprene at the top to hug the calf and normal welly at the foot. They are expensive but they last really well. Charlie’s type stores and farm supply type places have a good selection of welly’s various prices.
I need some new mine are cheap and very thing soles so uncomfortable.

Morning x rain seems to have finally stopped and I have actually managed two decent nights sleep in a row so almost human
Lovely curry and wine in front of strictly last night
Off out for a long walk in a bit and hopefully my new book will arrive today so I can get comfy with that and a glass of the nice gin DH bought me for half term Grin
Avoiding the news and social media and trying to keep plodding

I've just finished my list of dressmaking UFOs (UnFinished Objects) and it's not as awful as I thought it would be.
I've finished the top of my son's quilt - but aren;t all 10 year olds mad about crows? is it just mine? - and I've cleared the backlog sufficient that I can start thinking about new projects.

I'm a re-enactor (17th century) so I'm thinking something with a ludicrous ruff, just for the sheer joy of it.

I'm off out with the dog in a minute. DH taking DS to the park at the other end of town on their bikes for a cousin's birthday party. There'll be 7 cousins in total, from three households, there'll be no hugging, although apparently they're all going on the zip wire!

I'll stay home and batch cook: chicken caldo (broth type stuff), bolognaise and I'll make a big batch of rosemary shortbread biscuits.

Later on I've got a Sewing Bee zoom meet up with 4 friends, we're in 3 different countries! I'll be sewing felt tree decorations for gifts for them (off-camera!). I've made lots already, 4 acorns yesterday [pic] and also making little drawstring bags instead if wrapping paper for each gift. I love sewing and it totally chills me out, so I'm in my happy place.

I'll take DS round to a friend's house later around 6 as she has got a big bag of clothes for him! Hand me downs, but DS loves new-to-him clothes. He was delighted a couple of weeks ago to get two camouflage print t-shirts, something we'd never buy him - obviously they're his favourite!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Off welly shopping!! Wonder do I get a face mask to match or a hat these days?

Hobnobswantshernameback · 25/10/2020 10:39

Hope you have better luck with the wellies

Lovely idea for thread. We just accepted an offer on our house for sale yesterday and DH is going there later and collecting a painted table and chairs I bought to have in kitchen here. Hope the cat will approve, she likes lying on our worn out table and chairs.

Half term hereand booked a pumpkin field for Friday. DH is playing the piano at moment.

Wondering what we'll have for lunch, did a roast dinner yesterday lunch but I'ld like one again. Grin

Eviebeans · 25/10/2020 11:38

We're having a "getting the house ready for valuation day" today. estate agent coming round tomorrow. Been cleaning, decluttering, known the lawn. DH is making steak and ale pie for lunch and Apple crumble for afters. We've been really good and lost weight recently and now that the rain has set in we fancied something Warming.

Cattermole · 25/10/2020 11:43

An add: me and the Junior Enginner have just been out in the garden ripping up the brambles in the wild patch.
We have three rose bushes and all three of them have got buds on.

Hobnobswantshernameback · 25/10/2020 13:24

Back from a nice long walk and managed to dodge the showers
Definitely feel like I've blown the cobwebs away

Just made an apple cake with half a Bramley I've had in the fridge since I made my Xmas puds 2 weeks ago.
