What to do about this Ebay coat that smells

Last year I bought a coat on Ebay that arrived absolutely covered in Febreeze. I considered asking a dry cleaner, but never did in the end, and it's been folded up in a bag ever since.

I took the coat out the bag just now and it still stinks, and I wonder if I've made it worse by letting it sit there for year. I actually have a headache from the smell.

I don't have a garden or any outside space, so there's no way of hanging it up to air anywhere.

Is it still worth asking a dry cleaner if they can sort it, or is it a lost cause? I don't feel like I can even give it to a charity shop. I don't mind paying a dry cleaner, but it would be a waste of money if it turns out the smell is too ingrained to do anything about.

That's a good question. I could hang it over the bath I suppose but it won't be easy. I'm going to have to have a good think about this.

Like Slopes says spray with vinegar spray (less than a quid in home bargains) then wool wash with delicate detergent maybe spray again when wet (it’ll probably take ages to dry)
Nothing to lose if you’re going to give it away anyway

Sorry OP just realised you have nowhere to dry
You could probably wring it out really well, hang over the bath then over radiator while still damp
Will probably take ages though

I'd spray it with vinegar too, let it dry and then see how it is after that. I'd also hang it to air it too.

Seal it in a bag and freeze it overnight. I know that works on some smells on fabric.
