I’d like to sponsor / adopt a dog as a Christmas present for my DD

Where you receive a picture, updates etc

Any recommendations of food organisations to do this? Thanks

Also Battersea, but you don’t sponsor a specific dog, you sponsor a kennel and you get updates about the dogs in that kennel donate.battersea.org.uk/appeals/sponsor-a-dog-kennel/

Thank you

Really looking for a specific dog but if not - that sounds good

Smaller charities really benefit from sponsorships/regular donations, as obviously they're less heard of than the big names.

Of course donating to any charity is good, but the donations can get lost in admin fees etc with the larger charities.

There are lots of smaller charities dedicated to particular breeds, so if you have a favourite have a search online and you may find one.

A good example of a few lovely charity's who work tirelessly for dogs are:

Bulldog rescue and rehoming
The Edward foundation
Helping dogs paws charity

As you can probably tell, I love dogs, so thank you for doing this Smile

Happy to do this The key is that I’d like my DD regularly updated!

Any particular recommendations?

She’s a lover of labradors and golden retrievers

@TickyBooo
It looks like you can donate but not sponsor

Every month..I think it's about £3

@Sodamncold

In the main it's donation as they look to rehome dogs so it's hard to anticipate how long they could be sponsored for, a lot of charities have permanent fosters who are unable to be rehomed so may be worth searching for that if your DD wants regular updates Smile

Sorry I meant to add something to that link, not meaning to take over the thread. Dogs trust may be good as your DD could choose the dog she wishes to sponsor and would get updates on that dog

Dogs for good. A brilliant charity, training assistance dogs. You can sponsor a puppy, or buy a virtual gift such as a training vest and a card will be sent. Take a look for options.
