Monthly online food shopping

If you do the bulk of your non-fresh shopping online once a month (like us, when we can, although we had to give it up during the severe lockdown earlier this year) what do you always include?

We order hundreds of pounds worth of stuff but I always forget things like salt, pepper, stock cubes, gravy powder, hot chocolate, flour, bin liners, bathroom cleaner - things we would always like to have in stock but they don't necessarily run out every month.

Can we come up with a definitive shopping list?

What is the benefit to this rather than just adding these bits to your weekly shop when you need them?

YorkshireParentalPerson · 22/10/2020 21:35

I do a monthly shop for all tinned, jarred, packet stuff.
Ive started keeping a spreadsheet with most of what we would use monthly I just add to it when I come across things that you may buy only once or twice a year like salt or peppercorns.. It's the only way I can keep track of everything.

The other thing is to go through all your cupboards and write down everything you have got. As you open one, order another.

Not having to give it all the headspace. Freeing up effort. Minimising time on online ordering or going to the shops. Minimising deliveries to me (for environmental reasons if nothing else).
