What can boys wear for a ‘wear pink’ day at school?

Our school are having a breast cancer awareness day and everyone has to wear something pink (can be anything). My friend doesn’t really have anything for her son to wear, does anyone have any suggestions?

One of mine wore fluorescent pink sweat bands once. He could wear anything he likes but depends how he feels about wearing pink. Some boys will, some won't. Probably same for girls..I don't like pink and would be hard pushed to find anything pink in my wardrobe.

EmbarrassedUser · 21/10/2020 21:17

A pink t-shirt. She’s over thinking this.

Pink hair chalk?
Pink socks
Sure there are pink shirts in the boys section, or a pink unisex fruit of the loom T-shirt (not honestly sure, I hate pink so don't dress my dc in it whatever their gender)

Pink shirt?
Pink socks?
Pink trousers?

What a stupid question. God forbid a boy should own any pink garments. Best just keep him off school for the day lest he catches the gay...

Wolfiefan · 21/10/2020 21:18

Borrow something?

ShalomToYouJackie · 21/10/2020 21:18

Something pink

NiceGerbil · 21/10/2020 21:19

Something pink would be my suggestion.

NiceGerbil · 21/10/2020 21:19

Although nothing too near his groin area or his testicles will fall off.

Rainbowb · 21/10/2020 21:20

I do hate these clothing days. We’ve been given very little notice and my friend doesn’t really have the time or money to be going out buying pink t-shirts but I will tell her she’s over thinking it, I’m sure she’ll find that immensely helpful Confused

Pin some pink ribbon on his jumper?

HaggisTheGreat · 21/10/2020 21:22

I am believer in not buying stuff specially for such things. So whatever they have - a badge, a ribbon pinned on or turned into a bracelet, a bit of pink cloth sown on to an existing T-shirt? Some pink felt tips drawn on to an old top? Clothing with some pink in the pattern? A pink shirt or tie borrowed from dad?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 21/10/2020 21:22

Pink nail varnish
Pink ribbon woven into a bracelet
Pink socks (borrow?)
Use a pink felt tip to draw and colour a big shape onto a white t-shirt (lightening bolt e.g.?)
Any pink glitter? Hair spray his hair and add the glitter.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 21/10/2020 21:23

Draw some pink circles on a tee shirt with felt tips

Rainbowb · 21/10/2020 21:23

I don’t think she’s actually worried about him turning gay - what a weird comment!! He’s just a boy who hates pink and doesn’t have anything in that colour. Just trying to think of a cheap pink accessory that a boy could wear rather than her having to spend money on clothing.

Do washing with the careless abandon that prevails at Wooster Towers and she’ll soon find that a cheeky red sweatshirt in the school shirts wash will solve the problem.

MillieEpple · 21/10/2020 21:24

Dont let her buy anything!
Can she ask the parents whatsapp group if anyone can lend him something pink.
Otherwise make a badge or wrist band

Rainbowb · 21/10/2020 21:24

Felt tip idea is a great one thanks!

ImFree2doasiwant · 21/10/2020 21:25

My son has a pink t shirt with dinosaurs on, along with loads of other pink stuff, Its his favourite colour.

Anything pink. Or not. I dobt think it's compulsory.

It’s a little harder for boys as I usually stuck a bow in my DD hair or nail polish. Of course, some boys won’t mind this and that’s fine.

The cheapest thing she could buy is socks. Or could she borrow a pink belt or make one with ribbon? He could put some pink laces in his trainers?
She could put some pink colour in his hair? You’re right, it does get expensive!

MalorieSnooty · 21/10/2020 21:27

Wash one of his white polo shirts with a red sock

DS2 says his favourite colour is pink, he absolutely rocks it (he's 4, I'll ask him again in a year).

ComeOnBabyPopMyBubble · 21/10/2020 21:27

Something red instead?
Our school does say pink or red(mostly aimed at boys).
If he has nothing pink, and he contributes the pound(or however much it is) it's irrelevant really, he can wear whatever he wants. It's a non uniform day.

Rainbowb · 21/10/2020 21:28

Pink laces - genius thank you!
