Best instant noodles?

I know, they're generally junk but I used to love a bowl of chicken super noodles. I saw a post a while back about hoodies, tried a couple of packs but they were lacking.

Any recommendations?

Second Nong Shim. Amazing.

KinseyMilhone · 20/10/2020 22:29

Koka spicy stir-fry are unbelievably delicious and addictive. They are spicy tho! My top tip - take care not to accidentally inhale the powder from the magic spicy sachet Grin

Another "tribe finding" thread. Excellent!

Koka noodles are expensive here (Ireland). About a euro. But the chicken ones go down well with DS. I like the curry ones.

Tesco own brand acceptable, but definitely a step down from Koka. The curry is "chinese" rather than Indian, which I prefer. Only 29 c though.

Aldi are 12 or 24 cent, can't remember. Very bottom shelf.

I bought a veg curry pot noodle a few weeks back to avoid eating out on a work trip. I was very disappointed.

Suggestions for better ones welcome, as koka seem to be seen as budget. There must be a top noodle out there. We have good Asian markets, so willing to travel specifically!

Oooh I love the Koka curry noodles. Super cheap and great hangover food! Didn't know there was a spicy stir fry flavour - where do you get them from? Local Tesco's doesn't stock them Sad

bettybadger · 20/10/2020 22:38

Ive found cheaper ones seem to be better. 45p for Koka here

lurker101 · 20/10/2020 22:41

Koka or Maggi (especially if you can get an Indian imported version). I love them topped with some Dumpling Shack Mala Chilli Oil

HBxx · 20/10/2020 22:44

If you like very spicy noodles, Samyang carbo are delicious, a weird take on carbonara and hot sauce. You can get them from Amazon, add cheese and butter if you don't mind the calories, and to take away some of the spice Grin but Indomie Mi Goreng are delicious too.

ImFree2doasiwant · 20/10/2020 22:45

Looks like Koka are a general winner with lots of other options to try. Not sure I want 40 packets from Amazon though, a trip to home bargains is in order!

Nissin sesame!

superoz · 20/10/2020 22:59

Nong Shim and Nissin Demae Ramen are in the world food aisle in Sainsbury’s.
You make a soup from the sachet so it’s less junky than a super noodle affair. I personally prefer the Nissin in sesame flavour but Ning Shin is good if you like spicy.

Shizzlestix · 20/10/2020 23:01

Nong Shim, red pot, big or small size, Asda, Morrisons etc. Very spicy, very tasty, properly genuine Korean apparently. Big pot is surprisingly high in calories.

Passthewinebottle · 20/10/2020 23:06

OMG I have no idea what they put in the Nong shim shin cup but it is absolutely delicious 😍 I keep ordering boxes of 12 from Amazon as cheaper than Tesco Grin

KinseyMilhone · 20/10/2020 23:08

I get my Koka spicy noodles at B&M. They are around 35p a pack I think (used to be 29p before lock down!)

Frownette · 20/10/2020 23:16

Mama tom yum shrimp. Quite hot and gorgeous lemongrass taste.

MotheringShites · 20/10/2020 23:17

Obviously it’s green Pot Noodle.

OneFootintheRave · 20/10/2020 23:28

Try "Seafood Party". Best ever.

PajamasnoDramas · 21/10/2020 00:01

Koka spicy stir fry every time - who knew there was such love for these packs of delicious scrumminess out there? If not then beef and tomato pot noodle.

BinkyBoinky · 21/10/2020 00:11

Maggi for me! Though never tried Koka.. will def have to give it a go

DownThePlath · 21/10/2020 00:22

Another vote for Nissin Ramen. The chicken flavour is delicious.

jennie0412 · 21/10/2020 00:26

Soba noodles!! They're not 'soupy' but they have the strongest flavour. Yakitori chicken is my favourite, followed by chilli Smile. Shin noodles are good too with melted grated cheese Wink

Littleroundsponge · 21/10/2020 00:34

Koka noodles! 😋

MotherofTerriers · 21/10/2020 00:34

Mama Tom yum shrimp is the best

toiletpaper · 21/10/2020 01:06

Koka beef for me. I buy them in a box of 30 from amazon and it lasts me about a year. It's funny seeing this thread as I ran out of them recently and hadn't gotten around to buying a new box so I got some cheap beef ones from Asda and cooked them tonight the same way I do the Koka ones (500ml water, cook for 5 mins and tip it all into a bowl, noodle soup that Joey would be proud of!) and they were so tasteless, I can normally eat most things as I hate waste but they were awful.
