I don't. I do birthdays and Christmas and a large box egg at Easter.

Marmite27 · 17/10/2020 15:05

I put £5 a month in the ‘days out’ savings account for Halloween. New costumes for the biggest (little one gets them handed down) pumpkins, craft stuff, sweets, a couple of decorations to add to the stash.

OudRose · 17/10/2020 15:05

Usually a new costume every other year, a pumpkin, a few cheap decorations and some sweets. So £20-£25 for two children.

I've made a bit of extra effort this year because we won't be going out trick or treating. I got Halloween party plates/ cups/ table cloth and some new decs.

We are having a mini party at home, kids can't wait!

Marmite27 · 17/10/2020 15:07

One year we spent a fuck tonne to be in Mexico for Día de Muertos. Just to give all you Halloween haters the vapours Grin

Not much, I get them a costume each, that's probably the most expensive part, but I try and get them from B and M. I put decorations up, but those are ones I reuse each year and I'll add a few bits. I buy sweets in case anyone knocks.

Mandalalorianna · 17/10/2020 15:37

Nothing.

WankPuffins · 17/10/2020 15:45

I love Halloween. I prefer it to Christmas. I’m skint though, I’d spend a shedload if I could. I used to know a lot of people and for a few years we had a party for friends and their kids, it was fantastic. I don’t know anyone now (for the past ten years or so) and it makes me sad not to be able to do that.

So just a cheap costume, sweets, a few new Poundland decorations each year to add to my collection.

freshcoatofpaint · 17/10/2020 15:46

Pumpkins and sweets. That's it.

They have a dressing up box they make costumes from, and make home made decorations. Normally we'd go trick or treating but we'll have a disco and games at home this year.

They love Halloween so we do make an event of it, but without all the plastic landfill destined shite that the shops constantly shove down our throats Grin

Everyone agrees the planet is screwed and yet so many people keep merrily buying endless "stuff" as if that doesn't make them part of the problem Sad We're not perfect but we are really trying not to buy unnecessary things.

I’m so jealous! I’d love to go!
TheFormattingIsWrong · 17/10/2020 15:47

Spent about £70 this year.

PracticingPerson · 17/10/2020 15:52

Very little, just a pumpkin and something nice for tea, plus a bit of chocolate.

DrCoconut · 17/10/2020 16:17

£0.00

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 17/10/2020 18:22

Some sweets, that's it. The difference between Halloween and Xmas for me is that Xmas decorations stay up for a few weeks, so it feels worth it to spend time, energy and money in doing it, but Halloween is just up one day and down the next - I just CBA.
