I am interested in taking my GCSE English exam after years caring for my child. I wonder whether you could tell me where to book an exam privately as a mature adult in London? Any clues?

I'd find your most local college of higher education and ask them.

Also, however please note that English Language GCSE is very technical in what it expects. Even if your English is basically sound you will need some tuition. You can't expect to just rock up and pass it. (I have a DD currently in y11).

Agree with TeenPlusTwenties. You’ll really need to know how to tackle each question and what the examiner will be looking for (for example, in AQA English Language Paper 2 Question 2, the question asks you to write a summary of the differences or similarities between the two texts. Nowhere in the question does it mention making inferences, but the mark scheme states that you must make inferences). It shouldn’t be this way, but it is.

Thank you. I am well prepared, just need an exam centre and they are all far way from Central London. I am quite familiar with the exam content.
I have been searching for a recognised centre, only to find they are quite far from where I live. This is why I wondering if any mums have done it centrally.

The other places that might be able to help finding an exam centre are a local secondary school or any local Home Ed groups.
