Can working from home be ‘fun’?

Although I’ve been enjoying WFH, I do miss the sense of camaraderie that being in the office brings.

Has anyone found any novel ways of injecting a bit of ‘fun’ into the day to counteract the sense of being alone? I know the rest of my team feels the same way but don’t want to force anything on them but some gentle suggestions of some things to do would be very welcome!

My daughter’s team have been eating lunch together and chatting every day on Teams

I just chase my dh round the house, slap his arse and inject a bit of harassment into the workplace, then a good shag.
Not sure this is the fun you meant though. Grin

@Devlesko
We have the same style, I got very little done working from home at the same time as my DH😂

It's very dull but I'm doing chats every day. Drive through coffees with the neighbours who are also bored out their brains! Walks and lunches over video call with friends. I also have music playing and sometimes put the TV on in the background.

It's not the same. I miss my office and all (some of 😁) the people.

We have Skype messaging which is a life saver as I can message the people in my team easily, as often as I would speak to them in a normal day. Would be quite bleak without it.

I really miss the social aspect too.

It sounds silly to actually write this but I’m worried that I’m going to become very anti-social and lose the skill of being able to interact well face to face with a wide range of people.

Not silly at all OP. It's been a huge concern for the past decade among our children becoming increasingly dependent on their smartphones etc, due to the pandemic everyone is constantly using it. Social skills will suffer. Hopefully it won't be too permanent.

Ive just left our work WhatsApp group in a Huff cos I hate them all 😂 😆 No, seriously, they are all really annoying (and hated my awesome YouTube video) God, I sound about 13 don’t I?? As for making WFH more fun, I reckon going for walks and doing more cooking possibly.
