Looking into online uni courses

Any advice on which sites to use for this.... Iv heard from friends that sometimes you do a course and it seems like alot of work to be told at the end of it that it doesn't really count for anything towards a career choice or isn't recognised by employers as a valid course Confused some advice from people that have done these courses or can offer up a good open uni/ uni sites that enable home learning at your own pace but give a recognised achievement at the end would be helpful. I don't mind paying for courses I want to do but I'm not going to pay for something I can't use when completed. Thanx in advance 😊

What is it that you want to study? I think you need to narrow down your focus a bit first. Open University is, of course, the obvious choice, but you would probably be better off googling the name of the course or area you want to study and online degree/course/programme/etc. To check that your course of study will be recognised, you mostly just need to know that the university is accredited and that whatever you want to use that course for (this depends on qualification you're seeking) recognises that particular programme of study. All reputable universities (I'm a lecturer) will be accredited, but it very much depends on the qualification/job opportunities you're seeking whether a particular course would be suitable for that. Can you provide a bit more detail and maybe someone knowledgeable in that area might be able to recommend something?

I was looking really to get a bit of inspiration as to what I want to do next with my career side. Iv worked in childcare for over 10years and as much as I loved it Iv had 2 children and it would be a bit like a bus mens holiday for me to have primary school age children at home (just started) and then teach and look after other people's children by day. Don't get me wrong I'm fully aware how lucky I have been to have had a job which I enjoyed so much for so long. I was looking more to the office side of things, so reception, book keeping etc. Just something a bit different I suppose. No harm in looking and keeping options open
