Coats for secondary school/over blazers

Even though DD said she didn’t want one, the weather has been fairly poor here this week and I’m going to have to get her one. Even when I drop her off it’s still 10 minutes from school.

I usually buy her something expensive as far as coats go but was thinking something from George as it will squish down into something smaller.

Anyone got anything good that has generous arms to go over a blazer?

And no furry collars (unless they can be removed, she hates them)

we have found Superdry coats quite good for DS ... he is 14 though and you have to have a good look to make sure they don't have 5 zips! and big logos

p.s their sales are usually quite good, this years coat was £30!

I would get a thinnish waterproof that can be rolled up into a carrier bag (to protect the books from the wet on it). My son literally takes a waterproof a handful of days a year....although now they are doing pe outside whatever the weather he needs it more. (His school sell a PE waterproof).

I still don't understand why secondary schools don't have a cloakroom area just inside the doors to hang wet coats all day....then kids could bring a 'proper' coat.

Dd has a plain navy coat from Mountain Warehouse. It's waterproof with a removable fleece inner.

I've bought one for DD from Trespass. It's got a removable hood and the furry bit can be zipped off. It does go over her blazer but what she tends to do is to put her blazer in her bag and put that on once she's in school and has taken her coat off.

Good luck Getting her to wear a coat. In my experience teens don't seem to want to wear coats even in sub zero temperatures and snow. I don't understand the teen aversion to coats. I'm sure we all wore coats in my day.

Thanks. I’m annoyed they don’t have lockers. I’ve worked in numerous secondary schools and it’s annoying that some do and some don’t have them.
I do have a roll up waterproof for her but I don’t think it’s going to withstand the cold as well.

@BentBastard she was determined she wasn’t but it’s been quite cold before 8am this week and I think she’s giving in!

The Uniqlo thin down coats go under a blazer and add amazing warmth

I’ve ordered a mountain warehouse 3 in 1. Even if she doesn’t wear it the fleece will be useful!
Thanks y’all...

Can't use lockers at the moment....in wrong locations for bubbles.

It's a right pain.

My son has a 3 in 1 from mountain warehouse in plain black.
