Looking ahead to the winter I’m thinking about activities or equipment for DS 22 months to burn off energy indoors when it’s awful weather, and to develop his gross motor skills. Was wondering about people’s experience with Pikler triangles/ ramps/ arches (and which size) or wobbel boards - do they get used, would he soon grow out of them? Or does anyone have alternative suggestions?
DS has no specific gross motor issues but thought he might enjoy climbing practice specifically as the climbing equipment in local playgrounds is a bit big for him to manage by himself, (and he’s very independent and not keen on being helped). We have stone floors so running indoors isn’t ideal, no garden just a large balcony. We have lots of space but I’d like something that could be folded or put away and brought out, rather than a massive slide, say.
We have a sandpit, water table and do lots of tuff tray pouring and digging stuff but I’d like something more physical. We have an Ikea tunnel but need something to alternate it with, he enjoys it for a few days then gets bored. We do go out and play in the rain but when it’s absolutely pouring/freezing I’d like to have options. We are overseas and unfortunately baby groups/classes/soft play options are extremely limited (basically nonexistent) this year due to Covid too.
