If my area go into tier 2 or 3, what would the rules regarding childcare in labour?

I think this comes under essential care, but would parents (if still happy to) be able to watch DC1 while in labour with DC2?

I'm prepared for labour alone if needed while DH looks after DC1 just a bit apprehensive about him not being able to visit at all to bring supplies etc if I'm in for longer than expected (ie C section or complications) since he won't be able to bring DC1 with him to visit. Hopefully I've packed enough though for a few days in if needed

We're tier 1 at the moment

I don't think it applies as a childcare bubble as isn't a "consistent arrangment", it would be a one off

I gave birth during "full" lockdown and my parents looked after my 3 year old. It counts under care for a vulnerable person and is definitely extenuating circumstances ircunstances

I think when you’re having a baby you sod the rules and do what you have to do.
Definitely would come under exceptional circumstances anyway.

Ffs your not going to give a toss about any rules when your in labour. I mean people who aren’t in labour don’t give a toss. Plus realistically no ones going to know you’ve broke the rules. Just make your arrangements as if there’s no rules x

I am due in 3 weeks. I dont give a toss what the rules are. My PILs will be taking DD and the dog. Who thinks of rules with SD when pushing a human out of your vag?

Just tell them it's a childcare bubble Regardless. I doubt they're going to be checking.

Thats what I have realised. Who is 'they'? Do we really think police are going to show up at someone's house because they have a toddler in it? A house party with 30 people is one thing, a 2 year old while someone is giving birth is another. Nobody is going to be actually enforcing this.
