Would you buy a house if a school was being built near it?

We have had our offer accepted on a house which had a piece of land opposite, we have had confirmation that houses will not be built on if but potentially a primary school if and when its needed. For now there are no plans but this could change.

Would you still buy?

We have a drive for 3 cars so parking will not be restricted but its more, the construction, then it being congested during drop off and pick up, plus noise as i work from home. Is there anything else to consider? Ive also thought about how it could affect the value depending on school rating of course.

Thank you :-)

No.
All the above points and some more:
Not just school pick up and drop off normal times but before and after school clubs too.
Could be hired out in the evening for exercise classes indoors or outside sports. Could even get floodlights.
Could also be hired out at weekends.

Well I live oppsite a school and it is not an issue at all. infact it,s very handy. But I would be worried about other new builds extra is a school was being built.

I live opposite a primary school and it really suits me. I leave for work long before the school run and don't get home until long after so selfish parking doesn't affect me.

It's generally quiet in the evenings, weekends and school holidays. There's some selfish, noisy bastards living at the end of my road and I'd much rather be opposite the school than opposite them.

It all depends on whether you're likely to be at home during school hours.

I lived opposite a primary school, they will park across your drive, they will park on your drive. Your bin will be used to dispose of left over lunches and whatever rubbish the little darlings come out of school with. Any flowers in your front garden will be picked. Small children will ride their bikes on your drive and alongside your car as their mothers sit on your front wall or stand outside your window having a loud 45 minute gossip. You will never be able to leave or return to your house quickly or easily between 8.15 and 9.30 and 2.45 and 3.45.

I never minded the noise of playtime or general school noise, it was mainly the parents that caused the issues.

@UsernameN0Tavailable oh yes I had forgotten about all the rubbish thrown into my garden or on the street - crisp packets, sweet wrappers, McDonald's bags and wrappers. Lovely.

Also yes the little sweethearts like to pick any flowers growing in gardens. Where I lived the front gardens were open plan and children would often run round them
