Both my hoovers have died - do I get a Dyson V11?

I have a Dyson handheld and a Miele cat & dog and both have died.

I'm thinking of buying a Dyson V11 which can replace both.

Has anyone got one and do you rate it? Is it worth the vast expense?

Thank you

We have one as our only vacuum in a 5 bed house. It can do the whole house in one go when necessary but I tend to do little bits at a time which is why I like a cordless better as quicker to grab.

BoulangerieBabs · 12/10/2020 09:33

Yes, yes and yes. It's our only vacuum.

Never buy a Dyson. Total crap

I’ve got something like a V7. Weren’t at 11 when I bought it but it wasn’t the newest one. I love it! Best hoover I’ve ever owned.

I hope everyone that spouts this has tried with a V10 or V11. If not then you can't really comment.

I deliberated over buying the v11, wondering if it would be powerful enough. I have two children, cat, four bed house with carpet in bedrooms. It's fantastic. I had to borrow a corded hoover for a while after the trigger broke (dyson sorted this quickly under the warranty) and I couldn't wait to get it working again. The corded was cumbersome and a pain to move around. The v11 is so light and gets under furniture easily. Easy maintenance too. Always surprised to see how much it picks up and can do the whole house on one charge. Bin needs emptying often though.

The Which report scored the Dyson v11 85% and there were no negatives to say about it.

Literallynoidea · 12/10/2020 10:09

Thanks all, think I'd better transfer some money out of my savings, much appreciated!

We bought the v10 recently as between the v10 and 11 there really wasn't much difference for the extra price. I absolutely love it. We have a Dyson upright dc40 which we said we would keep for upstairs. It hasn't come out of the cupboard in the 5 months we've had the cordless. 4 people, 2 cats.

What does "died" mean?

Jjimdak · 12/10/2020 10:43

Get a Henry!

FrenchBoule · 12/10/2020 10:53

Henry didn’t work for me. Nothing more frustrating than shuffling it’s brush furiously on the carpet watching the bits happily jumping around.
Got rid of it eventually and got Dyson again.

Does anyone know what they are like versus a shark?
Think mine is on the way out (I've got a dyson corded upright atm) so I've been looking at these too.

UsernameNotValid · 12/10/2020 11:03

We need a new hoover and pretty much everything I come across online suggests that the Shark duo clean anti-hairwrap thingy is the best on the market.

I love the ease of cordless but don't think you get the same longevity or power.

notangelinajolie · 12/10/2020 11:08

No don't do it. Ours was great for about 6 months and then the filter needed replacing and there is never enough battery to do the whole house.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/10/2020 11:19

Hate my shark. The hose gets blocked with pet hair, the stair power tool is crap and it just falls over all the time when using tools. Poor on hard floors too. It does have nifty headlights though.

JuiceyBetty · 12/10/2020 11:22

Yes. Love ours.

Mistlewoeandwhine · 12/10/2020 11:23

I couldn’t buy a Dyson due to my hatred of their progenitor.
