Mine is a Westclox clock made in Scotland', it belonged to my grandparents who were born at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries then passed on to their son who passed it on to me. It's about 70 years old as my Dad remembered it as a child and still works - it's ticking away on the coffee table next to me, even the alarm still works.

What is yours and where is it from?

I am not going to say because I jinx myself with these sorts of things.... Grin

Like last week when I said my mixed breed dog never gets ill but my pure bred cost me a fortune in vets bills. Guess which one hasn't eaten for two days, has the squirts and I probably need to take her to the vet.... Blush

My tumble drier. No idea how old it is, but my mum bought it from the next door neighbour second hand 43 years ago.
When it finally dies I won't know whether to take it to the dump or bury it in the garden with a little plaque Grin

BrieAndChilli · 12/10/2020 09:16

I still have my electronic keyboard I got for Christmas in the mid 80s. The kid’s play it now.
I have other stuff that’s older but that’s mainly stuff that wouldn’t break or stop working

toomanyspiderplants · 12/10/2020 09:19

a hair dryer.,dates from the mid 1980's

MyKingdomforaNameChange · 12/10/2020 09:22

A 1952 Series One Landrover :)

Jackparlabane · 12/10/2020 09:24

My tumble dryer and hair dryer both date from 1984. Both fairly basic models with little to go wrong.

IdblowJonSnow · 12/10/2020 09:25

Possibly me but I'm barely functioning!

Is it a creda? My mum inherited hers from my Gran. I reckon it must be a similar age.
Bazookapie · 12/10/2020 09:32

My Kenwood Chefette food mixer. Still used frequently - it was a wedding present in 1973.

AlCalavicci · 12/10/2020 09:46

I have a hand held eletric whisk that was my DMs from around the mid 80s
My cooker a free standing gas with eye level one , I have had it for around 18 years i think its about 25 years old . I bought it from a local second hand shop .
They could not shift it because it wasn't the new trendy style of having a lower grill .
It cost me £30 including delivery Grin

And though not mechanical/ electric my dinning table is about 40 years old and I have wooden spoon that gets used almost daily that's about 25/28 years old.
The bowl bit of the spoon is worn down to about half it's size Confused

Juaneeze · 12/10/2020 09:50

@bazookapie I have a 70's Kenwood mixer too which was a wedding present to my parents.

It has a very distinct and familiar smell and always reminds me of making trifle at Christmas.

Mintjulia · 12/10/2020 09:52

An electric mixer, still going strong. I think it was bought when I got my first flat 33 years ago. Grin

Tangledtresses · 12/10/2020 09:53

I forgot that I've got the plate my grandmother used to put the turkey on each year, we don't use it though.

Grandfather clock from around 1800.

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 12/10/2020 10:16

A sewing machine from around the 1920s-30s (I did know the exact year but can’t remember) still works perfectly

I’ve got some books from the late 1800s that are still intact but not sure if they count as something that ‘works’

Time40 · 12/10/2020 10:19

Two wind-up gramophones, and a large collection of 78s.

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 12/10/2020 10:21

I’ve still got my mum’s 1960s travel hairdryer. It’s a lovely dark blue colour. Although it does still work the aroma that comes out the back makes me think that eventually the components are going burst into flames, so I’m keeping it as a museum piece really Grin.

Carpathian2 · 12/10/2020 10:21

My cooker. I bought it in 1989 and it's still going strong. I'm dreading the day it gives up Hmm
