Train tracks

Hello!
Currently have a wooden train track but son gets in a strop that the trains come off the track easily.
He's also got a Playmobil 123 night train track which the train stays on track alot easier. I've looked online and can't find much else similar in Playmobil 123.
I've come across Thomas trackmaster. Please tell me about it, is it any good? Can the trains be used without the batteries in? Son likes to push trains back and forward at his own speed so wondering if he could do the same without the batteries in or do the wheels not spin without battery power?
Thanks all!

You can get push along track master trains, try asda, got diesel for ds for christmas. The battery track masters cant be pushed along and they do derail on sharp corners on wooden track. The best train we've got for not derailing is a lidl battery powered
DS uses the battery powered track master on his wooden railway and you can get adapters to link track master track to wooden track. DS doesn't have many accidental derailments on his brio (most of ours is brio for 20 odd years ago). To keep the trains on the tracks don't make them too long and go for gentle curves.

Thank you!
I think a push along will be a better option for him then thank you :) I'll have a nosey and see what other ones there are as well in the push along range as it's his birthday in January.
Ive seem a track on Amazon that the trains are battery powered. Is the track the same as a push along so I could just buy push along trains to go on it as well so that he has the option of battery or push along?
Sorry for the questions, I haven't seen them in real life!
