@Samcro

being able to touch dd. not hugged since March. she is disabled and in a residential setting, can't even visit at the moment.\really hard explaining this to someone with lds. oh for a cuddle.
Flowers @Samcro That sounds incredibly tough.
timeforawine · 07/10/2020 11:09

Luckily we got a holiday in August to Crete which was lovely.
I miss going out socialising, a couple of friends aren't comfortable going to restaurants/pubs, our last night out was in Feb.
Also moss spontaneity, deciding that morning that we'd like to go to the zoo etc, i hate having to book in advance as sods law it'll bloody rain on the day i'm due to go.

BashfulClam · 07/10/2020 11:10

Being able to wake up on a weekend and just do something on a whim. ‘Weather is decent let’s go to x place and grab lunch at y place.’ I’m sick of it and so fed up!

RedskyAtnight · 07/10/2020 11:10

Casual conversations.

I can organise to meet friends/family but it's the dozens of small interactions each day, with people that I don't really know well enough to organise meetings with, that I'm missing.

timeforawine · 07/10/2020 11:12

Sorry to hear that @Samcro that must be so hard, i hope you can hug her very soon Flowers that's a really shitty rule, especially in cases like yours

Lardlizard · 07/10/2020 11:13

Holidays and random trips to the pub for a few drinks and some food.

timegoesbysoslowly · 07/10/2020 11:20

Going to cinema, getting bus into town and mooching around.

I know technically I can do second one but it's not the same, don't want to be on a bus, can't relax in shops, glasses steaming up.

I just miss, deciding to do something on the day, having social anxiety my trips into town, cinema on my own, broke up the days.

But now I'm just anxious when outside, takes me ages to pluck up courage to go to local shop. You make think someone with SA having to stay at home is great, it was at the beginning but now I'm going stir crazy and lonely. This has set back my mental health recovery and I'm dreading winter, think I'll just hibernate.

Mrsfrumble · 07/10/2020 11:20

Flowers for everyone, especially @Samcro and @ImNotWhoYouThinkIam.

As someone who’s involved with community outreach stuff through church, it’s so miserable and frustrating that we can’t provide all the usual opportunities for fellowship at the moment.

Bickles · 07/10/2020 11:24

Hugging my parents. Seeing friends and socialising. In local lockdown with high cases so limiting contacts.
Closely followed by holidays- had 3 cancelled this year.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 07/10/2020 11:24

Just the simple little things like an off the cuff chat and cup of tea with neighbours.
Family of course. We have seen them a bit, but outside. I’m not happy about seeing them at Christmas now they’re back at school.
Exercise classes in halls and a coffee afterwards.
Browsing the shops, just in case, particularly looking for make up stuff.
The occasional meal out or snack in a coffee shop.
Spontaneous trips, just because.

Not fussed about pubs.
Can manage without a holiday
Don’t need the cinema

It just all feels wrong

Elzbells · 07/10/2020 11:25

@Lardlizard

Elzbels did you know theme parks are still open ?
Yes, but it's no fun with all the restrictions so I would rather not bother
Muddypuddlesinthewoods · 07/10/2020 11:27

Health care.

Lardlizard · 07/10/2020 11:33

Nothing really. Can't think of anything off hand.

It's a lovely sunny day today here so we can pretend we're on holiday :-).

On the whole I enjoy not having demands on me to see people and go to places. I like the peace.

Life goes on, this won't last forever.

imissthesouth · 07/10/2020 11:59

Seeing my family, going on holiday and even the school run, it's so strange to drop them off and not be able to chat to the teachers and other mums (and dads) on a morning.

movingonup20 · 07/10/2020 12:03

Live music, the ability to confidently plan for the next few months. We might go away though to Italy, to be safe we'll book literally on the Thursday to fly Friday as the safe list seems to be updated on Thursdays taking effect on Saturdays. That said I'm unemployed and dp can work from home so quarantine is no biggy. Sicily is still warm

ImaSababa · 07/10/2020 12:04

My synagogue. Haven't been since March.

RationalOne · 07/10/2020 12:05

Holidays and festivals

Although you can go to some places, the situation changes constantly and don't want to have to self isolate on return.
So many restrictions everywhere

FallonsTeaRoom · 07/10/2020 12:18

My singing group. It's not the same on zoom.

My craft group. Ditto zoom.

Dropping in on my friends and a spontaneous hug.

Going out without checking we've got masks and hand wash.

Spending the evening propping up the bar in the pub and chit-chatting with the regulars.

Chilver · 07/10/2020 12:20

Spontaneity

Bluesheep8 · 07/10/2020 12:26

Being able to visit family in their homes. I'm in an area with local restrictions that don't allow it
