Learning to read music

Hi all,

I'd like to study music theory. I started learning when I was 10, as I was learning to play a huge electronic organ but I stopped because my teacher was a paedophile (and thankfully went to jail). I had quite a lot of potential 😔

Anyway, here I am at almost 51 hoping that I get a piano keyboard for my upcoming birthday. I'd like to start learning both the theory and practical side from scratch. Take exams if possible.

Anyone know of any online courses?

There might be something online to look at alongside but the ABRSM grade books are good and the pink book (ABRSM guide to music theory) is invaluable.

There used to be a brilliant little theory of music textbook published by associated board. I found it really helpful to get me through my grade 5 theory exams many many years ago and continued to refer to it for many years after that so I would recommend finding one secondhand or it's modern equivalent.
