Etiquette these days on cold and nursery

16mo new to nursery...has been in for two 2 hour settling sessions and already has a cold. No temp or cough and otherwise seems fine, apart from tugging at ear which I am getting checked out.

What is the etiquette here - no temp so he can go in or is there an unspoken rule due to covid that any sign of sickness and they be kept off? Officially they only need to be kept off for temp or sickness and vomiting.

My ds school and nursery (where he still does breakfast club) have sent multiple emails and notes urging parents to still send children in if they have colds but feel otherwise well. I would just ask what they expect. If they expect the slightest sniffle to trigger a day off then I suspect there'll be no children there to care most of the winter.

Fine to send in. Now he's at nursery, he'll likely have a cold all the way through to March!
Nursery will have a policy which you can ask to see but the gist that I get from most settings is children can attend nursery/school so long as they don't have Covid-19 symptoms. Ours have changed their policy to say they can't give Calpol now. Probably because it could mask a high temp caused by covid??
