Where to buy loose leaf tea?

I’ve always been an avid tea drinker, but have never tried loose leaf tea.
Where can I buy some really nice good quality stuff, either online or in a shop?

The Algerian Coffee Stores algeriancoffeestores.com/ - despite its name has a very good loose-leaf tea selection and a good online operation. Its a great independent shop, and everything arrives in lovely brown paper parcels.

@longtompot There's a recipe for making your own mint tea at
www.northern-tea.com/buy/cuban-peppermint-leaves/

and they have a ready-made green tea version
www.northern-tea.com/buy/moroccan-mint-tea/

I may have to try one with my next order...

Thank you, but the Buttermint is minty with a buttery taste. I use Pukka 3 mint teabags already which I love, but sometimes I want something a bit more comforting.

Postcard Teas.

They are based in London, Dering street, but sell online too. I regularly buy their family first flush darjeeling and their stonerolled green and black tea for tea latte.

I don't really like bird and blend. I got a whole load of their smallest size sachets to try and didnt like any of them enough to reorder.
They have lots of spices and flavourings in them so smell nice, but the tea underneath it all isn't that great.

Has anyone found a good decaff one? I tried the Brew Tea Co one but didn't like it much.

moonbells · 04/10/2020 22:40

I have Kenya decaff and it's actually quite a strong Assam-like tea. Small leaf type.

I think it tastes OK. They also have tea bags.

EerilyDeleted · 04/10/2020 22:45

Ooh, that sounds promising, we mainly drink Assam full caff. I prefer a decaff for the evening though.

pm me and I'll pop a few tablespoons in a ziploc in the post.

Try the golden monkey

goldenmonkeyteacompany.co.uk/

Supply loads of well regarded restaurants with their own blends but their breakfast blend is great

They do coffee too.

Leaf is a cafe in Liverpool, it’s lovely if you’re in any way local! They do loads of different blends and it’s great to try them out. I ordered the monthly tea sample thing for my mum a couple of mother’s days ago.

the Tea House in Covent Garden or Fortnums, is where i get my loose leaf tea. I ran out during lockdown as I don't live anywhere near London but its my treat to myself to go tea shopping in person occasionally so it's not the same buying on the web. I'm aware that's a bit odd Grin

VanGoghsDog · 05/10/2020 00:32

I like Nothing But Tea. But I have Golden Monkey tea too, a blended one.
