My life is so boring

It's probably the miserable weather making me feel worse but my life is just so boring.

I am currently only working 2 mornings a week and spend a lot of time at home.

During the week I drop of dc at school and either go to work or do grocery shopping. Then I'm usually home by 1 every weekday and just do mundane jobs such as cleaning.

Then I collect dc from school, cook, read with them/ homework, bath them. Then I watch a bit of tv and go to bed.

Weekends I sometimes see my mum or take dc to the park. Then I'm either entertaining the children at home or more cleaning.

What am I missing from my life? It just feels so dull.

Can you take your kids on trips away on the weekend?
2 day in a caravan?
Day trip to the local beach?
Farm parks?
Cinema?
Trampoline park?
Fell walk?

Etc etc

I feel the same at the moment. We’ve just relocated meaning we’re away from friends and family whom we could just meet up with on a whim. I don’t enjoy going places at the moment with all the restrictions either. Agree that the weather isn’t helping though. X

Do you have a Hobby, or something you enjoy doing? Could you join a walking group or another activity
Something to look forward too in the week. That’s just for you and nothing to do with House, being a mum or your job

Exercise, mental stimulation, social life and something to look forward to are my main things that keep my life from feeling too ‘boring’
I know we’re limited to what we can do but there’s a lot on line and you can still meet friends for a coffee or walk.
Try to go somewhere on the weekends even if it’s just somewhere different for a walk (not very thrilling but will help mentally)
Maybe sign up for a free short course?
Start an exercise programme?
Start a creative hobby?

Your week sounds very like mine. Although to be honest I quite enjoy the safe, dull routine.

I do try and plan something nice to look forward to at the weekend, although not easy these days. But in normal times maybe a visit to a national trust place, country or beach walk, a nice family meal or visit to a museum.

Some weekends we don't do anything but it's always good to have something to look forward to!

That’s life!
Exercise? A hobby? a college course? A de-clutter, could you temporarily increase your hours, do some volunteering work (can lead to job opportunities)
To be honest there’s not a lot we can do at the moment! It is a little bit depressing, especially now the weather has changed.

I am in a similar position to you, except I only work (volunteer atm as no paid work) 1 morning per week. Things I do are:

  • Book Club with friends once a month (currently via Zoom as more than 6 of us)
  • Reading at least 1 book per month for Book Club
  • Decluttering & selling stuff online. It gives me a little thrill each time I get money for something I no longer want.
  • Baking. Trying out new recipes once a week
  • Meeting friends for coffee at least once a week
  • A brisk walk once a day
  • Finding new shows on Netflix/Amazon etc
