Ring your surgery and ask to speak to a nurse

I had a discussion with the nurse yesterday when my baby with a heart condition had her flu jab. She told me to check with her consultant when she was 3 as to which one she would have but it did sound as if it was only the extremely vulnerable (as in those who had been shielding) usually get it rather than the spray.

Yes my DS 14 gets the flu spray. He does not get the option of a jab. He has mild asthma which can be exercise or extreme cold weather induced.

DD gets the nasal spray - as I understand it from the consent form, mild asthma, not needing a increase in salbutamol use for a few days before is fine for the nasal spray.

She's had the nasal spray for several years now, with no issue and has exercise induced asthma that she uses salbutamol for occasionally.

Thankyou everyone. I will speak to the nurse.
