I've a half bottle of screw top (yes I know I'm a cheap date!) merlot left from ages ago probably 2-3 months?

Will it still be ok to drink?

I've got a pressure headache and oddly I've found the only thing that helps when I get them is a glass or 2 of wine and this is all I have in.

Thoughts? I've had a wee sip and seems to taste ok

i wouldnt waste it

If it tastes ok I can't imagine it will do any harm. I would in your shoes....m

(For future when wine is not available - it sounds like a tension head ache....have you tried the rub on sticks? They are great.)

Cheers for the replies

I have tried EVERYTHING, I don't get them often combination of stress and a storm threatening are causes but only thing that works is wine - even other alcohol doesn't help no idea why

It’s fermented so unlikely to harm you to drink, but it might not taste as nice as it did. A few weeks is usually the limit for most open wine.

It actually tastes better than usual!

Slightly sweeter and with more depth

I really struggle with wine as I am reluctant to try, and therefore risk wasting money, wines I haven't tried before

Plus I used to drink white before dd but since her white tastes acidic and vinegary to me

I discovered with some experimentation in pubs etc where I could buy just a glass (housebound now) that I like Chilean merlot

So if anyone happy to recommend red wines that taste similar I'm all ears

I tried a french merlot ages ago and it tasted..:burnt? And not in a good way

I'm a total novice on wine but would love to learn
