Where should we go?

Today our third attempt at a holiday abroad this year went poof and we've given up on going anyway warm and sunny.

So where should we go? Looking for WiFi and a TV Hmm somewhere in England. I'm thinking cosy cottage. Happy to curl up with a book and do nothing. Would like it to be near to things to do for days out. Just a different four walls would be good. Needs to have a large comfy sofa or two. And a bath as well as a shower. Private garden. Hell, I'm not that choosy, just want a break. If we stay at home we'll end up doing loads of jobs about the place instead of chilling out.

If you're not that fussed about where you go, I'd just start looking at something like www.holidaycottages.co.uk/ and seeing what caught my eye.

South west has very low case miners so unlikely to be locked down.

Lots of lovely beaches to have windy walks...

Lake district... we have booked a cottage with open fire for a weekend very very soon.

Obviously we want to go hiking but if the weather is against us we have somewhere cosy to hide!

The cottages at Keld Head Farm share a large enclosed garden with swings, slide, climbing frame, roundabout and sandpit. Some of them have their own garden too. There's also an area for football & badminton, play shed with toy cars etc..., and an indoor games room. The farm is 15 minutes walk from Pickering which has a good indoor pool and a steam Railway. It's less than 10 minutes drive from Flamingo Land (theme park and zoo), 15 minute drive from Dalby Forest (bike hire, 2 play areas, cafe, themed activity trail) and half an hour from Whitby and Scarborough. Very nearby there's a fantastic museum called Eden Camp. It's all about the war and it's very hands-on. My DC enjoyed the mock air raid and the junior assault course. www.edencamp.co.uk/visit/
We also spent a day in York (It took us 35 minutes to drive) and went to the Jorvik Viking museum, climbed the Minster, Castle Howard and walked the walls. Groceries can be ordered prior to arrival.

Thank you! Have had a stressful day today trying to get a straight answer out of Jet2. DP has suggested a bit of a tour using his hotel points and airbnbs, though I've said I don't want to live out of a suitcase for a fortnight. Will check out the places recommended.

We've planned a circular trip down to north Devon then via the Cotswolds home using Airbnb and DP's hotel points.
