Anyone around to keep me company. Waiting for my op and getting jittery

Waiting on my new hip after having a major wobble and wanting to go home yesterday.

Old timers may remember me (D0G) I had an accident 5 years ago a horse fell on me and I broke everything pretty much haha.

I'm hoping this may finally be an end to my pain. I was meant to be done yesterday but they had an emergency so been waiting around which doesn't help when you've psyched yourself up. Anyone feel free to give me positive new hip stories. I also need a stern talking to about not running away and cancelling - the ward next door has a possible Covid case, and although it feels like my millionth op it's a bit scary in A pandemic plus it's being done under epidural not GA which seems a bit scary I do need a big dose of "get a grip"

Wow they showed you your bone, I’d have loved that but welcome to a pain free life once your fully healed.

Brilliant news, D0G. Shame about the itching - but that won't last, there'll
be no stopping you now!

Well done you!

Popskipiekin · 03/10/2020 13:07

Wow aren’t you amazing! You look so chuffed and astonishingly chic for being in a hospital GrinStar good luck with recovery and crossing fingers that this wraps it all up for you.

TheSpottedZebra · 03/10/2020 13:11

Blimey you look very healthy for someone who's just had a big op!
Healing vibes to you.

mommybear1 · 03/10/2020 13:43

Wow that's fantastic I'm so pleased all has gone well so far - hoping this continues and you can get out soon!!

OriginalD0G · 03/10/2020 15:43

Hope your recovery goes well Smile

Only just seen this. I’m glad it all went well. Epidural is so much better than a GA if it’s possible because generally you feel much better soon afterwards.

FWIW my Gran was in agony with her hip. She went for the replacement, despite being scared. Honestly it gave her a new lease of life afterwards. She’d been housebound and once she’d recovered she was out everywhere she’d missed Grin All the best with your recovery Flowers

Oh you look Fabulous
I'm sure you will soon be on the young horse and sj!
Riding is a risk but totally worth it for the joy it gives us

Home now I came back yesterday. Slept all day and night, was so tired hoping that's normal will move around more today. It's lovely to be home but am missing the hospital moving beds!!!
