Would you work if you didn't have to?

Sitting here with a virtual pile of very uninspiring admin to do and daydreaming...

Would you work if you didn't have to? For instance if you and the family had a paid off mortgage, good pensions and a windfall. (I'm imagining 1-2 million in the bank). I think I'd give up work and study for a postgrad degree just for fun, but I wonder if I'd feel differently if I like my (quite well paid but dull) office job.

Yes I'd definitely still work.
It takes the pressure off putting up with crap at work though doesn't it.
But the elderly people I see who don't work compared to those still working... Vast difference in all respects..

I don’t have to work and haven’t for a long time. But up until March this year I was caring for my Mum and she’s now in a nursing home. All my friends work, and tbh I’m bored now. But I have limited scope for employment and I’m a bit stuck. I am going to look for a part time job

In what way? And how elderly?

I would switch to part time rather than full time probably. Not many PT jobs about though these days.

I love my job but I wish beyond anything I could afford to go part time.

I had a year out not working due to chronic illness and I was miserable. I need to work. But part time please.
