If you’ve stopped drinking tea, what’s the closest substitute you’ve found?

I used to drink mainly Earl Grey or English breakfast with a little milk, but even decaf versions upset my stomach now. I like herbal teas, but I miss that feeling of a cup of tea that you get. Have you found anything that comes close?

There is no substitute.
I drink, probably around 10 cups a day!
Rooibos is pleasant with sugar but entirely different imo and herbal tea is just utterly awful.
I’ve tried many flavours and apart from mint and cinnamon apple which are passable, they are all grim imo

I’m fairly certain it’s the tea rather than milk as I drink milk everyday with no problems. I hadn’t thought about an empty stomach affecting it though, I will trial that!

Apparently it's a well-known thing, I had no idea until one of my friends told me about it and then it all made sense!

I loved drinking tea but it was causing a red patch on my face to flare up. Coffee does not cause any problems . For my morning brew I have Barleycup. It’s not like tea but Worth a try

I developed an intolerance to tea during my last pregnancy (DD now 7). Started off as the milk in tea, then any tea.
Initially I switched to green tea, now prefer peppermint. I think it is the tannin for me, I get the same reaction to some wines and to tonic (but that's quinine not tannin.) I can get a 2 day migraine from a small cup of tea.

I had this a while back. Switching brands helped, as well as cutting down and substituting some cups for herbal tea. I now only drink a couple of cups of decaf pg tips, I find caffeinated too strong!

Earl Grey redbush, Dragonfly brand, with almond milk. Honestly I was surprised -- I am NOT a fan of herbal tea.
