Can anyone interpret my dream - a bit scary

I often have strange dreams and last night was no exception.

The dream:
I was walking home late at night on my own and I could see the moon behind some trees. The moon was very low and was glowing orange like it was on fire. I felt scared and Walked faster.

I continued to walk until I arrived in London Confused. Once there a group of people were telling me I needed to walk a different way as there had been an accident.

As we were all walking away people began screaming and running. It was still night time and as I walked past an alley way I could see why.

The moon was huge and pitch black. ( like the solar eclipse) but people were saying the moon had died. We had killed it. We had warning signs but no one listened.

I ran and was waking everyone up banging on their doors. Everyone was screaming and at the time I felt terrified of what was going to happen.

Then I woke up.
I was scared to open my curtains this morning Blush

Any ideas what it could mean?

That does sound scary!
It sounds like you are worried about everything that is going on in the world at the minute, and anxious about what will happen next? And how we are all going to be affected?

You've been reading the news, full of the encroaching environmental catastrophe.

Your brain has given it a Halloween/quasi religious bent, just to mix things up a bit.

You could probably mix covid, a sense of personal powerlessness and just the random nature of dreams in there too.

Have you been considering putting walking boots on your Christmas list? Grin

Moon represents light in the darkness. You fear that we are in the dark without even any light, in fact we've killed the source of light by not listening to the warnings. This will result in mass panic, and you, whilst being as terrified as everyone else, would still like to help wake people up. Waking people up is symbolic for getting people to listen and employ reason. London probably represents the heart of society - you had the strength to walk there, so you presumably feel you have the endurance to make this journey, despite your fear. There's definitely hope in this dream - you believe in yourself, despite the overwhelm of the situation.
I'm a stranger so if this doesn't fit discard it, but that would be my interpretation. I am a retired psychotherapist. Take care of yourself.

By the way, if a client had brought a dream like that we could easily have spent th whole session on it, because there's always much more to tease out as it's told and talked about.

Thank you for your replies. They all sound pretty accurate and interesting.

@lughnasadh I think I will need some walking boots. From here to London is over 100 mile walk!

What’s your instinct about what it means?
My dreams are usually a load of mixed up stuff from the day, television, books etc,
or ones that I feel that my brain is trying to tell me something, in a roundabout way. These ones often make me realise something that I’ve been trying to avoid thinking about or being honest with myself about.

You're scared to shine your light and you allow others to dim it
